Tom and Anna in the Pearl River Delta

his story is about Tom and Anna. Anna was a funny child who had a younger brother named Tom,
who loved to sleep whenever he had time. Anna also had a little frog called Brun. Brun was brown
in colour and liked to swim. This story happened in a little house on the Pearl River Delta, in a
place called Guangdong.
The brother and sister did not have a mother or a father. They lived all by themselves. They had to feed
themselves and find their own food. One day, the children went out of their house to look for food. They
decided to collect some fruits, but realised that the trees no longer bore fruits! All the fruits had shriveled and
died due to the pollution from the factories that had lined up in the distance. So Tom and Anna came back
home without any food. They were sad and hungry. Then they saw Brun. They were both so happy to see
Brun that they kissed the frog. Suddenly, the frog turned into human! He was a prince! The prince had
magical powers, and with that he gave them a nice, warm house to live in. He also gave them lots of food.
The prince told Anna and Tom to do something about the pollution from the factories in return for what
he did for them. The children agreed and decided to go and talk to the factory people about the pollution
problem.
