My Adventure at the Pearl River

his story took place a long, long time ago…
I am a girl from Hong Kong, I love to go to the Pearl River and find fish. My dad is a fisherman,
he goes fishing early morning, every day. My mum takes care of my house. My mum usually takes me to
the river and takes me to school every morning.
One day, my mum got sick. Then I had to go by myself. I went to the river first, then I had to go to
school. When I arrived at the river, the water was very dirty. So I got into the river and picked up the
rubbish. After that I cleaned up. By the time I finished cleaning up, I was almost late for school. So I had to
rush to school. There were a lot of cows on the road, so I had to wait for them to move.
“Ding dong, ding dong” I could hear the school bell! I was late for school! I decided I shall not to that day,
instead I shall go to the river and look for rubbish.
As I was walking in the shallow part of the river, I saw some pirates in front of me! They had got down
from their boat and were coming towards me. They wanted to catch me! I ran as fast as I could and got
home safely at last.
I learnt something that day: I love the river and that is a good thing, but going by yourself to the river is
not!
