As they were talking, Chrysanthemum soon found out that she had a lot in common with Gray, until
midnight to sunlight ,Chrysanthemum felt the sun shining in the sky, she was shocked! If she didn’t get back
home soon , her father would get furious! When she was ready to dive back into the river, Gray grabbed her
hand and said, ‘May I see you again tonight?’ Chrysanthemum’s face turned bright red as well! She nodded
and dived back to the river, she couldn’t wait for the night to come!
One day, two days, a month a year passed by and they were still meeting every, they turned to be more than
just friends, they became lovers!’
However, the River King noticed Chrysanthemum’s behaviour was unusual, so he sent the third princess
Pheony after her. Pheony saw them talking, she was shocked, she swam back to her father and told him
everything!
The river King was furious, he asked Pheony to catch Chrysanthemum, and he began to punish the boy
Gray!
The river king punished him by turning Pearl river Delta into a desert! No more beautiful plants, no more
tasty fruits, nothing left but a desert.
Poor Chrysanthemum was locked in the castles, she was so lonely, she missed her prince charming, Gray.
One night, she had a dream; Gray was hugging her and keeping her warm, she heard a knock at her
window. She was confused and wondered who could be knocking at other people’s window that late?
She opened the window, she thought she was dreaming, Gray was there! He was with a old lady wearing a
black robe, Chrysanthemum couldn’t believe it! She hugged him tight, and asked thousands of questions!
Gray asked her to calm down and said ‘I will explain everything to you.’ Then he began his story. ‘There
was a witch in our valley, she was very powerful, I begged her to take me underwater. She agreed, so I
came down here, but I can’t stay here for a long time, because she can turn a mermaid into a human. I asked
her if she could do that for us, and she said that she has to meet you first!’ Gray finished his story, then he
looked towards the witch. The witch said: ‘I know that every mermaid has magic powers. If you can turn
our valley back, because we don’t have the blood of the River King.’
Chrysanthemum’s tears fell down onto the floor, then something magical happened. Chrysanthemum ,the
witch and Gray flew up into the sky then the desert was gone, it turned back, too what it was beautiful!’
The old lady said!
‘The witch smiled and touched the mermaid tail and said: ‘May god bless you two!’ puff, Chrysanthemum
she jumped all around, and finally she hugged Gray with all her heart.
