holding my hand. That’s when I took my first step into another world.
As I stepped into the art room, I stared in shock. The walls were decorated with drawings and the sound of
classical music filled the room. “Today everyone should have brought in a photo of one of your family
members to draw,” the kind Ms Kelli told us. So I took out my photo and started to draw my little sister,
Nina. I looked over at Hannah’s photo. My mouth fell open. It was my Mother! Was Hannah a part of my
Family? Was she a lost sibling? Questions started to fizz around my head like bubbles that wanted to be
popped. After lots of thinking, my family tree puzzle pieces finally started to fall into place. Hannah was my
sister that we lost in Denmark. On that terrible day, she went to school, and never came back. When we
had found her, she had been adopted, and she wanted it to stay like that. Somehow she moved to Hong
Kong.
I reported the information to my parents the next morning. They broke the adoption and we were a proper
family again. Now that I had found my sister, life in Hong Kong was going to be great.
