The War of Pearl River Delta

t was the year of 2350 summer. The sun was burning Hong Kong. Christopher, the soldier, was sitting
in his flying car, more correctly, enjoying the air-conditioning in his car, and watching movie with his
smart glasses, a substitute to his smart phone. “I won’t let you kill the king. If you want to kill him,
kill… Beep!” the movie suddenly stopped and a fierce face appeared on the screen. “It is Leader speaking.
Gather at the base as quick as you can.” Christopher immediately drove the car to the base. He thought,
“What is so important?”
The base was extremely gigantic. It had a sparkling white wall. All of the soldiers were standing
there, greeting the captain. The captain announced loudly, “You all know well about Pearl River Delta. It
refers to our Hong Kong city, Macau and Guangdong. As you know, we are fighting over the right of
ownership of the island in the center of the river as there are many natural resources. But the three
governments could not negotiate well and they finally burst out war.”
On the other side, the captain of Macau was telling the soldier how to fight against the army of
Hong Kong and Guangdong. He said, “The army of Hong Kong and Guangdong are too strong. We need
to win with our brain, not our strength. Team 1 will use tunnels to sneak attack them while team 2 has to
battle with them on the ground to distract them. Then team 3 can have bomb attack in the sky when team
4 uses the electric wall to block them…” Electric wall was a wall which was made from electricity,
apparently. When anyone touched it, it would release electricity to shock the person.
However, instead of training his soldiers, the captain of Guangdong was sneezing as he thought the
army of Guangdong was strong enough to defeat the two opponents. The soldiers of his were all playing and
occupying themselves. They did not care about the war. The army got worse and worse before the day of
the war arrived.
It was a sunny day but there would be a dark side on the island in the Pearl River. The three
armies of Pearl River Delta were waiting for the start of the war. Christopher was standing in the Hong
Kong side while he saw his friend, Rafael was standing in the Guangdong side. The captain of Guangdong
suddenly shouted, “Attack!” All of the soldiers of Guangdong ran towards the armies of Hong Kong and
Macau. Christopher saw his captain and the captain of Macau talking. He thought, “Why don’t the soldiers
of Macau kill our captain? Are we going to help Macau to fight Guangdong?” He could see Macau’s soldiers
using some spades to make tunnels to sneak attack Hong Kong’s and Guangdong’s soldier. All of a sudden,
the captain of Macau announced, with a super microphone, “Can all of the Macau soldiers hear me? All of
you stop attacking the soldiers of Hong Kong! The Hong Kong soldiers are fighting with us since now!”
Christopher found Rafael so frightened that he had lost almost all his strength. Christopher wanted to save
his friend a few times but he could not go through the soldiers.
At night, Christopher couldn’t sleep because of the sound of fighting, and more because he was
worried of Rafael. He went out of the tent and looked at the battlefield situation. He saw most of the
soldiers of Guangdong were being defeated. He was confused of why the soldiers of Guangdong were
defeated so fast. He was glad about the war was going to end but worried about Rafael. He quickly searched
for Rafael but he couldn’t see him as there were too many soldiers. A few minutes later, only one of the
Guangdong soldiers were standing in the battlefield! When Christopher walked two steps towards the
battlefield, he could see clearly who the soldier was. The Guangdong soldier was Rafael, his friend! He was
the only man who stood in the battlefield and fought with a lot of soldiers. Actually, he was fully equipped
before the war, not like the others, so he was able to fight against so many soldiers from the two camps. At
that time, Christopher couldn’t stand anymore. He immediately grabbed a sword and a bubble gun, which
could spray bubbles to trap people when anyone pressed the “shoot” button, and ran into the battlefield.
Christopher used all his strength to run towards the place where the soldiers were fighting. The
soldiers had already caught Rafael. They saw Christopher running towards them like a tiger so they thought
he wanted to kill Rafael. They let Christopher have a road to go to Rafael. Christopher finally ran to Rafael
and he quickly raised his sword, ready to cut the rope which tied Rafael. The soldiers at the side wanted to
see the last man of Guangdong die so they stared at the sword. But they just saw the sword cut the rope and
a shadow took the last soldier of Guangdong away. They were shocked. When they had just realized
Christopher saved the only enemy, Christopher and Rafael had already gone.
